Hello Parents and Students,
     I am your teacher of 8th Grade Language Arts this school year (2011-2012).  I am totally elated about the challenges and opportunities which lie ahead of us.  In addition to all the SOL Prep Activites, we also have the Baldrige program to enhance our learning experiences. You might have heard that I am the WOWing teacher. I sure hope so!  WOWing is an enrichment vocabulary program which encourages the use of vocabulary words in their "real" lives outside the regular school day.  Please be aware that by June,  we will have 250 useful and wonderful words to use in our writing, reading, and our daily lives. I also have my students keep a TON, which is a totally organized notebook. 
I issue a weekly calendar of our classroom goals and activities.  We check it every Friday to make sure that we have accomplished our assignments.  This calendar is also here each week for you to peruse. It's going to be a great year!
